How long does an evaluation take?

The entire testing process occurs in one day. This is to ensure no unnecessary time passes during which your child could receive appropriate treatment based on the diagnostic conclusions.

The same-day testing process includes a diagnostic interview with the parent/child, psychological testing, and feedback regarding diagnosis and next steps. It takes between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the age of the patient and the type of assessment being performed.

What is the cost of treatment?

Consultation for Professionals: $150
Sleep Therapy: $150 for the first appointment, which includes sleep assessment and treatment plan, and $90 per follow-up appointment
Parent Coaching for Disruptive Behaviors: $150 for the first appointment, and $90 per follow-up appointment

What is the cost of an assessment?

Testing Appointments: $1,500 – $2,500 (varies based on the type of evaluation requested)
A $500 deposit is due at the time of scheduling. The remaining balance is due on the day of testing. The full report will be released within one week of the appointment.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the evaluation?

Yes! Please create an account on the electronic medical record system, Simple Practice, by making an inquiry on the Contact Us page above. Once the appointment is scheduled, there will be forms sent via Simple Practice for you, your child’s teacher, or the child/adolescent to complete. Please also upload any payment/insurance information that you would like to use for the appointment.

What is the current waitlist?

Dr. Poelker is usually able to schedule assessments or therapy appointments within 2 to 4 weeks of receiving the appointment inquiry and completion of necessary forms.

How soon can I expect to receive the full report and diagnostic conclusions after completing testing?

Parents and caregivers receive feedback regarding diagnosis and recommendations on the same day as testing. They are provided with a summary of findings and next steps, including a treatment plan tailored to your family’s needs.
The full report will be completed within one week of the testing appointment once payment is fulfilled.

Will my insurance cover the cost of the assessment?

Coverage varies by provider. We can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

What should I bring to the assessment?

Relevant medical or educational records, previous psychological reports, and any questionnaires provided in advance.
